As the title reads, during the past 6 months businesses globally were impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic resulting in the Fast Forwarding of organisations Digital Transformation initiatives. During these months, IoDERP/Digital SIG launched its’ internal Advisory teams comprising of thought leaders from industry, with a majority of women.
Our very own ERP/Digital group, a SIG within IoD Central London, took the lead in ensuring IoD members were kept abreast of Cyber threats, Remote working trends and Digital Transformation updates. In the early months, the SIG focused on Cyber threats by collaborating with National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) with an FBI (US) joint advisory cautioning organisations of Covid-19 phishing related cyber hacks. An awareness campaign was launched highlighting the email and SMS hacks to IoD members. NCSC released a series of social media articles for both SMEs and large organisation with a Board Tool kit.
The ERP/Digital SIG, launched in May 2019 at the Lord’s Cricket ground, a few weeks prior to the Cricket World Cup. We were fortunate to have the CEO of MCC, Guy Lavender provide insight into what it takes to host a Cricket World Cup in terms of Tech.
The second milestone, a collaboration with Digital Transformation Expo 2019, where our Chair of London region David Stringer-Lamarre chaired the Keynote session of Sir John Sawer, former Chief of MI6. Several sessions chaired by me were focused on Future of Work and Impact of AI.
Amazingly, the ERP/Digital group secured a collaboration with West London Business to host events jointly for London Tech Week 2019, a total of 4 events.
To end the year of with a bang, the ERP/Digital group hosted an event at the House of Lords with Lord Clement- Jones as the headline speaker, with IFS as the key sponsor and support speakers.
It is likely that the success of any enterprise has become reliant on the developments in evolving technology to establish or maintain a competitive advantage.
The ERP/Digital group focuses on the trends and topics that are challenging the enterprise of today and tomorrow by inviting technology pioneers and influencers of good practice and innovation to share their own experiences in providing and maintaining sustainable solutions for business success.
The format is to share and learn with this network of C-Suite peer professionals who recognise that enterprise and technology is a significant key factor for success in the global marketplace.
