Sue Dewey OBE

Keynote Speaker

Debra Charles

CEO and Founder, Novacroft

After beginning her career in robotics and computing, where she saw the potential of technology to simplify complexity, Debra Charles founded Novacroft in 1998, with a vision to bring talented individuals together to embrace technology and innovation and change the way things are done for the better.

Today, Novacroft is an award-winning smartcard programme and software development company helping clients such as Transport for London and the Royal British Legion get more for less and making life easier for all, including the management of TfL's Oyster photocard schemes.

Debra was a finalist in the 2012 NatWest Everywoman awards, before being named entrepreneur alumnus of the year by Cranfield University in 2013. She was a finalist for the Smith & Williamson Entrepreneur of the Year in the National Business Awards 2015.

Further Speakers

Sacha Atherton

Founder of Premier Parents Ltd

Sacha Atherton is a real life example that being a single parent shouldn’t be a barrier. Despite her own challenges, Sacha channeled her passion to launch her own pioneering business ‘Premier Parents Ltd’, a parental recruitment and employment consultancy helping employers to improve their workplace diversity through the attraction and retention of skilled parents.

With a growing reputation as an industry disruptor, Sacha also designed and delivers her own unique skills suite including the pioneering 'She Can Do IT' Academy which gives unemployed mums in-demand IT & Tech skills resulting in quality, family-friendly careers whilst contributing to the successful growth of women in tech.

Sacha has acquired a strong following, particularly across the Linkedin network and was recently endorsed by the UK&I Director of Google during the launch of her "Guys That Get It" diversity and inclusion event in London.

After less than 18 months in business, Sacha's achievements are notable. Her client base is growing rapidly across multiple industries, including engineering and tech, as she continues to drive more opportunities for returners in particular, whilst creating new sources of talent to address the skills gap across the country.

Donjeta Miftari

IoD Press officer and founder of Dropin app

Donjeta joined the Institute of Directors as Press Officer in May 2016.

She works to represent IoD members’ views in the media and ensure that the IoD’s public policy positions gain the greatest exposure. These positions are developed on the back of extensive member surveys and engagement, and build on the principles in the IoD’s Royal Charter.

Prior to joining the IoD, Donjeta worked for the Government of Kosovo and co-founded the tech startup, Dropin, a social networking app based on location. She also has a BA in Economics and Politics from the University of Kent.
