IoD Cumbria - A Cruise on Windermere 2018

06 Jul 2018
Ambleside Waterhead Ferry Landing, Ambleside

IoD Cumbria invite you to join us for the most memorable business event of the year!

The Annual IoD Cumbria Windermere Cruise for 2018 takes place on Friday July 6th 2018. Be a part of our Lake Windermere cruise, where you will be treated to a high quality business speaker, a Cumbrian buffet, as well as stunning views of the lakes, mountains and secluded bays.

After a welcome drink, we will set off on a two and a half hour cruise the length of England’s largest lake arriving back at Waterhead at 21.30. Our guest speaker is Professor Julie Mennell Vice Chancellor of the University of Cumbria. Julie graduated from Leeds University and has had extensive experience with universities in Sunderland, Northumbria and Teeside. She will bring an overview of the challenges facing Cumbria and how Academia has a role to play particularly in the area of apprenticeships. We will have examples of the work of apprentices on board. There will be the usual excellent Cumbrian buffet and the two and a half hour cruise of England’s largest lake will give plenty of opportunity to network and socialise with  contacts, colleagues, family and friends. A unique event in spectacular surroundings, an evening not to be missed.

We will showcase the best that Cumbria has to offer and demonstrate what a great place it is to live and work. Who says you shouldn’t mix business and pleasure! The evening is ideal for colleagues, clients, family and friends to chat and network in stunning and unusual surroundings.
