Emma Cameron, Partner, Veale Wasbrough Vizards
Emma specialises in all areas of corporate finance and acts for businesses, banks and high net worth individuals on share and business acquisitions and sales. She advises on joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, fundraisings and share schemes. Emma is recommended in the latest edition of Chambers & Partners, described by the 2014 edition as being "brilliant and available 24/7", and a client is quoted in the 2015 edition as saying that "she is consistent, thorough and accurately interprets our needs and requirements". Emma is also recommended in the 2016 edition of The Legal 500.
Kevin Uphill, Chairman, Avondale Corporate
Kevin enables business owners to enhance equity value, maximise business sales and acquisitions. He is a successful M&A strategist and has facilitated the sale and purchase of over 400 companies. As well as being an accomplished business strategist he runs a series of thought provoking, content rich and inspirational keynote speeches.
In 2015 and 2016 Kevin was awarded “UK Game Changer of the Year” by ACQ Magazine for his outstanding work in business transformation. Kevin is also an author having published, “Buying & Selling a Business for Wealth” (2007), “Navigating the Rivers of Cash” (2015) and “Creating Competitive Advantage” (2016).
Anthony Francis, Rockpool
Anthony has over ten years’ corporate finance and private equity experience. He trained as an accountant with Ernst and Young where he was involved with owner-managed and high growth companies. From here he joined Lloyds Development Capital, the largest UK mid-market private equity house, where he was involved in a number of successful equity investments. He subsequently co-founded ContactEngine, attracting multiple rounds of private funding. At the latest round, he stepped down from the board to join as a partner of Rockpool Investments and has led seven private equity transactions since June 2015.
Myra Forster-van-Hijfte, Vendor of North Downs Specialist Referrals
Myra is a RCVS and European Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine and has been active in the veterinary sector for more than 30 years. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons and has published and lectured nationally and internationally.
She co-founded North Downs Specialist Referrals, a Specialist Veterinary Referral Hospital in Surrey, in 2005. The business grew to 75 members of staff and was successfully sold in 2015.
Myra also holds the IoD certificate and diploma in Company Direction.
Mark Baldwin, Business Strategist, Avondale Corporate
Mark graduated with an MBA and became the preferred strategy consultant for the Government’s Business Link developing the UK’s most promising SME. When business link was cut Mark moved into a Japanese Multi-national corporation where he led the UK Sales Division, advised on the Global CRM strategy and designed the European marketing strategy across vertical and horizontal propositions. In addition, he structured a new division which led the way in developing a strategy to sell innovative technologies incorporating the internet of things and beacon technology. He joined Avondale to head up the strategy practice where he advises an eclectic mix of companies on strategic M&A’s, management practices and business development. He has a proven track record of creating and implementing business strategies resulting in significantly increased shareholder value.
Mike Cooper, Partner, Moore Stephens
Mike has been advising owner-managed businesses SMEs and PLCs and their directors and shareholders on a wide range of business and personal tax matters since 1988.
Mike is both a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. Mike’s specialisms include structural and forward business planning to minimise future tax exposures mergers and acquisition work identifying opportunities to maximise positive cashflows and helping to design personal financial and wealth planning strategies.
Mike lectures regularly on tax matters and acts as trustee and executor for various local charities trusts and estates.
Mike Symes, Chief Executive, Financial Marketing Limited
Mike is a renowned branding strategist and marketing author, with an intimate knowledge of bringing the fight to the competition.
A classically educated marketer, Mike’s move into financial services saw him rise quickly to become head of communications for Woodchester Cre´dit Lyonnais, where he set up their in-house agency, then ultimately to become Marketing Director of Bank of New York Financial, before starting his own group of agencies.
Mike has a passion for branding and communications, drawing on over 25 years’ top-level experience in transforming organisations and building iconic brands.
