Jamie talks about the journey along the road from a start-up to a successful business and what the future may hold now he has secured the backing of BBC Dragons Den entrepreneur, Touker Suleyman.
This event includes a one-course lunch with coffee
Established in 2008, Cocoa Ooze was founded by Jamie Hutcheon at the age of 17 to fulfil his dream of becoming a professional Chocolatier.
Since then, Cocoa Ooze has developed into a premium bespoke chocolate company with everything made by hand, using many local ingredients, and employs over 20 staff. They personalised handmade gifts to bespoke printed chocolates for every occasion and sell products mostly within Scotland via their website and through carefully selected retailers.
Their coffee shop in Aberdeen city centre sells their ever increasing ranges of chocolate (six types of hot chocolate) and in January 2017 they moved into Jasmine house to develop their chocolate manufacturing facilities, corporate & wholesale supply and online distribution. From these new premises they also offer parties and chocolate making workshops for adults, children and school groups.
Jamie has been shortlisted for many awards over the years and in 2015 he won the Young Talent Award at the Scotland Food and Drink Awards. In December 2016 Jamie won the support of retailer Touker Suleyman after landing a £70,000 investment to develop his manufacturing facilities on the hit TV show Dragon’s Den.
