The fifth annual international Hiscox Cyber Readiness Report provides an up-to-the-minute picture of the cyber readiness of organisations, and offers a blueprint for best practice in the fight to counter an ever-evolving threat. It is based on a survey of executives, departmental heads, IT managers and other key professionals. Drawn from a representative sample of 6,042 organisations across eight countries by size and sector, these are the people on the front line of the business battle against cyber crime.
Joe joined the IoD in September 2015 as a graduate executive at IoD Student, before proceeding to lead the department. In this role, he oversaw the Institute's university partnerships and student engagement across the UK. He supported over 20 educational institutions to improve student engagement and development through training, events and mentorship.Joe joined the Policy Unit in December 2019 as the Head of Education and Skills policy, before becoming a Senior Policy Advisor in October 2020. In addition to Education and Skills, and Future of the Workforce, Joe leads the IoD’s Sustainability, and Diversity and Inclusion policy work.Joe is passionate about supporting organisations and their leaders to improve on sustainability and diversity and inclusion. In his role he seeks to promote higher standards in education, and a skill system that genuinely prepares people to meet the needs of the business community.Joe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies from London South Bank University and an Executive MBA from Nottingham Trent University. He also sits on the curriculum advisory board for the school of Business and Enterprise at London South Bank University.
Gareth is Cyber CEO, responsible for leading Cyber Insurance at Hiscox. He also leads the CyberClear Centre (C3) providing Cyber Expertise in areas such as product development, value add services offerings, cyber training pricing and advisory services to customers. The C3 team serves as a dedicated cyber resource, drawing together the expertise of Hiscox’s 80 cyber staff across the business.Previous to this role Gareth was Hiscox CTO, leading the IT Strategy and architecture teams, where he was responsible for driving a cloud first approach, and re-architecting one of the core underwriting platforms. Prior to this, Gareth ran Infrastructure Services for Hiscox. Before joining Hiscox, Gareth has worked in a number of financial services companies, including 9 years at Aon in various IT roles.
Stephen has over 10 years’ experience in both broking and underwriting cyber insurance, and is responsible for setting Hiscox’s UK cyber strategy. He holds both CISMP and COMPTIA Security+ certifications, and also sits on the ABI Cyber Committee and the DCMS Cyber Expert Advisory Group.
