IoD East of England: Leadership - Building Better Resilience - 90 Minute Series

15 Apr 2021
Online webinar, Online
Are you clear on what coaching is (and what it isn’t)?  Would you like to understand the benefits and return on investment of a coaching programme?  Would you like to understand the ingredients required to introduce and embed a coaching culture in your organisation?

This practical and interactive 90 minute session will provide you with current research into these topics, a case study from the Holkham Estate and some tools to take away with you.
The session will be led by Alex Triplow FCID, Head of HR at Holkham.  Alex is experienced in introducing coaching programmes into organisations and is currently in her second year studying towards an MA in Coaching and Mentoring at Oxford Brookes Business School.   Alex is an active presenter and participant of the EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) Norfolk branch.
Peter Mitchell, Managing Director at Holkham will also share his insights into his experience of leading toward a coaching culture.

This is our fourth in a series of six short leadership webinars. To benefit from this series of events, we would encourage you to attend them all,  however you are welcome to register for stand alone events. Peter Mitchell has been Managing Director at the Holkham Estate since March 2018.  Holkham is one of the UK's largest and most admired rural estates.  It employs 250 people (350 in summer)  in 16 very diverse business areas across land, property, leisure and tourism sectors.  During 2020, the Holkham Estate was visited by and shared with an estimated one million visitors.  Less visible but no less important is Holkham's pioneering commitment to conservation, regenerative agriculture and sustainable land management.

Peter graduated from Cambridge with Manufacturing Engineering degree. His early career was in management consulting, then retail and e-commerce, including director-level positions at Mothercare, BHS, Waterstones and BSkyB.  After moving to Norfolk with a young family in the early 2000's, he was Group MD at Jarrolds in Norwich where he led a talented team who modernised a traditional department store retail business into an award-winning exemplar of high service, experience-based, multi-channel retail.

Peter was founding chairman of Norwich's Business Improvement District and chairman of The Garage Trust.  He is now on the Advisory Board of a large privately-owned estate in Scotland involved in regeneration of highlands landscape.
