John Watson, Interim Chair, Institute of Directors

John joined Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) as an Operating Principal in 2013 and Chief Commercial Officer of their investment, Edinburgh Airport Limited, leading the revenue and capital investment projects teams. John works with a number of  GIP investments worldwide and is CEO of one of their invested companies Crosswind Developments Ltd, established to deliver the regeneration up to 150 acres of land at Edinburgh Airport.

Prior to joining GIP, he was Managing Director of Lloyds Banking Group’s $50bn SME Lending portfolio. John was a founding Board Director of the Business Growth Fund plc, After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with PwC Corporate Finance, John joined 3i plc. He has subsequently held a number of executive and non-executive positions globally.

With over 25 years of experience, he has a BEng Mechanical Design Engineering and an MSc IT from University of Glasgow. John is a Non Executive Director of Entrepreneurial Scotland, Non Executive Director of Scottish Event Campus (SEC), Chair of Intelligent Growth Solutions, Interim Chair of Institute of Directors and a member of both the ICAS and the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Governing Council Boards.

Mark Duckworth, CEO, Schroders Personal Wealth

Mark has over 30 years’ experience in financial services.
Mark joined Schroders Personal Wealth in September 2020 as Chief Executive Officer. He joined from Openwork where he served as CEO for 5 years, he originally joined the company as a Commercial Development Director in 2010, and was appointed as Managing Director of Distribution and Marketing less than a year later. 
Previous roles included Distribution and Partnerships Director of Prudential, where he was responsible for the expansion and distribution into new countries and markets across both Europe and the Middle East. Mark has also held senior roles in other financial services firms including AXA UK, Scottish Amicable and CGU.
Mark has two children, is a keen squash player, cyclist and mountain climber. He has completed numerous cycling events around the world in Vietnam, Cambodia, China and Nepal.

Jackie Leiper, Workplace Savings & Distribution Director, LBG

Jackie has extensive technical experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on life and pensions. She is responsible for the Workplace Savings & Distribution business within Lloyds Banking Group.
Jackie is also a lead media spokesperson for Scottish Widows, and sponsors the annual Women in Retirement Report. Jackie is a member of the Insurance and Wealth (I&W) Executive Committee, and also sits on the I&WRisk Committee and Customer & Product Committee.

Jackie is a member of the ABI Long Term Savings Committee. She also led a taskforce as part of the CII’s Insuring Women’s Futures Initiative. Currently, Jackie is Chair of the Gender UK Financial Wellbeing Challenge Group for the Government’s Money and Pension Service (MaPs) collaborating with other financial services firms, policy setters, and third sector organisations to develop the 10 year delivery plan.

Jackie started her career in financial services 25 years ago and spent several years in various operational management positions at Prudential, Scottish Amicable and Capita Life and Pensions before joining Lloyds Banking Group in 2010.

Adrienne Everett, Account Director, LinkedIn

Adrienne started her career on Wall Street on the Equity Derivatives Team at J.P. Morgan in an institutional sales capacity.  She then shifted into private equity,  joining Abbott Capital Management’s marketing and business development team prior to being recruited by Morgan Stanley U.K. in 2013. Adrienne remained with Morgan Stanley in the UK and later transitioned to their U.S. Wealth Management Division.

In 2018, after spending over a decade in financial services, Adrienne relocated to London from the US to lead business development, for a fintech company with a focus on financial inclusion. She recently joined the LinkedIn Marketing Solutions team in 2020 as an Account Director on the Financial Services Vertical.
Adrienne believes strongly in helping close the gap around the accessibility of financial education and helping people from diverse backgrounds meet their financial goals.
She is actively involved in giving back to her community by creating distinctive programs for organizations providing strategic opportunities for growth and expansion of their diversity and inclusion agendas.
