Over the course of the next six months IoD East of England will be running a series of bitesize leadership events, covering a variety of topics to help develop your role as a director.
At this opening event, we will be joined by IoD East of England Regional Chair, Biplab Rakshi, IoD Norfolk Interim Chair, Leona Barr-Jones and IoD Norfolk Ambassador, Judeline Nicholas.
This first session will be an interactive and engaging forum, an opportunity to reflect on the past 12 months and looking ahead to a brand new year.
To benefit from this series of events, we would encourage you to book all six, however you are welcome to register for stand alone events. These events are open to both members and non-members with a small nominal charge for non-members.

Judeline Nicholas of Judeline Nicholas Associates and IoD Norfork Ambassador

With over 30 years’ experience of supporting clients in public, private and charitable sectors, she provides consultancy services and courses in the UK and US. Her passion is People Skills with her niche being - equity, diversity, and inclusion matters: reviewing policy and working practices, designing, and facilitating learning programmes, and drawing on her experiences as a Lay Panel Member of Employment Tribunals.

Leona Barr-Jones, Focus7 International Ltd and Interim Chair of IoD Norfolk
– Leona has spent over 30 years in the Military, 21 years as a Regular Army Officer serving in Germany, Bosnia, Kosovo and South Africa. She has worked with the Royal Artillery and Royal Signals and in Personnel and Training policy and command roles including Army HQ and 5 years in MoD Head Office working on Strategy and Defence Diplomacy and International Policy and Planning. She has served for the last 9 years in the Army Reserve and is currently Colonel Commandant of Essex Army Cadet Force (ACF).
Leona has experience in Project, Programme and Portfolio Management, the highlight of this was working with TfL and ODA as the Programme Manager for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Transport Operational Readiness and Testing Programme.
She is currently co-founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Focus7 International Ltd, a leading purpose-led, brand and digital marketing agency in Hertfordshire where they offer a Think, Create, Deliver approach to creative marketing and business growth solutions. She also deliver strategy, direction and inclusive leadership training to boards of Directors and Trustees.
As well as a Fellow of IoD, Leona is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management (FInstLM), holding CMI Level 7 and Level 8 Leadership and Management qualifications. Leona was also an IoD Director of the Year 2019 winner and has recently been awarded a Soldiering on Award for her long term work on inclusive leadership in Defence.
