The team from Eureka!Europe uses a series of well-researched insights to take us from the last global crisis of 2008 to the present, before considering the future through the lens of an extraordinary case study from 1951 when idealised redesign was applied to the US Telephone System.
The webinar will explore -
• What did we learn from the 2008 Recovery?
• Why was the US Telephone System creatively destroyed?
• How do we up-skill our people for the 21st Century?
What can attendees expect from the session?
A deeper analysis of the data and the skills that matter for leading the way to recovery and growth.

Helen Potter - Co-founder and CEO, Potter Innovation
“Anyone can learn how to innovate given the right training and tools - I’m living proof! ”
Helen is a Graduate Chemist, Marketer and Innovation Engineer with 25 years’ experience in new product development and innovation.
In 2015, Helen founded Potter Innovation and now teaches leaders, managers and front-line workers how to turn ideas into reality, quickly and with less risk, by using a proven, data- driven, systems-based approach to innovation, known as Innovation Engineering® (IE).
Helen discovered IE while she was working as the Innovation Manager for The Famous Grouse. IE was in its infancy and she had the chance to work with its founder Doug Hall to pilot many of the tools she now teaches. IE Systems enabled Helen to add over £12 million profit to The Famous Grouse, through innovation and portfolio expansion. She qualified as a Black Belt in IE soon after and, when her role was made redundant, Doug offered her a license to teach and bring IE to Europe.
For the last 3 years she has co-delivered an IE based Programme in Ireland to help SMEs grow through innovation. An external review found the Programme had returned £26 for every £1 invested. Helen provides workshops for Business Gateway, CeeD and Dundee University. She is a trainer and mentor for Coca Cola 5by20 at Women’s Business Station and Elevator’s Accelerator Programme. She is also a Mentor for the HIE Mentoring Programme and a trainer at The Circle Academy.
In April 2020, Potter Innovation joined forces with Smartworks to form Eureka!Europe LLP to extend the reach of IE in the EMEA region.
Helen is currently the only female IE Black Belt outside North America and her mission is to demonstrate the anyone can learn how to innovate given the right training and tools.
