IoD Yorkshire & North East Webinar with Paul Mount, Deputy Agent, Bank of England, Yorkshire and the Humber

27 May 2020
IoD Yorkshire & North East Online, Online
Paul Mount, the Bank of England’s deputy agent for Yorkshire and the Humber, will be the special guest speaker at this webinar.

With businesses still adjusting to the ‘new normal’ of trading in a world reeling from Covid 19, it was no surprise to see the official GDP figures showing a 5.8% fall in March. The IoD said it was “a sobering first glimpse of the economic turmoil caused by the outbreak.”

The furlough scheme has staved off widespread redundancies and given businesses breathing space. Many have adjusted to the challenging conditions with admirable speed. However, questions remain over how deep the anticipated recession will be – and how quickly the economy can bounce back.

Paul will provide an economic update and take part in a Q&A with attendees.
