IoD Online - Has Globalisation Peaked?

26 May 2020
Online webinar, Online
The coronavirus pandemic is evolving from an unprecedented public health challenge to a threat to the global economy.

Whereas the crisis can only be overcome by a huge joint effort, citizens have, understandably, turned to their nation states and many governments act according to the principle “every man for himself (and God for us all)”. It is becoming obvious that the post-COVID world will be very different. This “new normal” will also affect globalisation, the system based on free trade and international division of labour.

Having already been under serious threat before the pandemic, will globalisation suffer a fatal blow or can it be rescued? If so, then how? What will a post-COVID globalisation look like, how will it change our economies and who stands to win and who to lose?

We will also be joined by IoD Chief Economist, Tej Parikh who will also be on hand to answer any questions that you may have.

The lunchtime webinar will take place virtually on Zoom. Once you have registered to join, you will be sent a link to connect and to add to your diary prior to the meeting.
