In Norway he started a petroleum engineering company which was listed on the Norwegian Stock Exchange after just 5 years in operation (AXL). After 3 years as Chairman and CEO he divested the investment and moved to the Isle of Man in 2001.

Eric owns and participates in property developments and has been active in extensive financial trading since becoming a long term resident of the island. Kristan McDonald

Kristan is Chief Operating Officer at Manx Technology Group (MTG), a full service IT provider for companies across the globe. Despite still being a programmer at heart, Kristan has a wealth of experience across all aspects of the technology sector, having worked in the full spectrum of companies from small independent software houses to large, publicly listed corporates, along with a few medium size enterprises in between. Passionate about the Isle of Man, Kristan joined the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce in 2016 to gain a better understanding of the Islands business ecosystem and shortly thereafter was elected Chair of the then nascent “Future and Emerging Leaders” group, now simply known as “Fuel”. The group was given the remit of providing a voice to a new generation of business people and bringing an awareness of upcoming issues the Islands businesses will face in the coming years.

Now in 2019, Kristan has taken on the role of Vice President of Chamber to continue this work and help grow Chamber by making it a more accessible and inclusive business community and positioning it as the organisation to represent for the voice of business for the Island. As part of this, Chamber has recently launched its free Entrepreneur membership and has run a number of events focused on helping entrepreneurs grow.

Kristan is also a board member of Digital Isle of Man, one of four Executive Agencies set up as partnerships between the Department for Enterprise and the private sector. The agency is responsible for the digital sector on the island, encompassing e-Gaming, technology based businesses and the growing digital media sector. The board works closely with the agencies Chief Executive to help create a positive environment for digitally-focussed businesses and has recently launched its first major initiative in the Blockchain Office, designed to attract Blockchain based businesses to the Island and assist those already here to scale.

Katie Nicholson, MBA

Katie returned to the island after gaining a degree in Marketing and Management and an MBA. Upon returning to the island Katie gained 7 years industry experience in the software and e-gaming sectors with both PDMS and Paddy Power.

Katie is a board member of the Digital Isle of Man Executive Agency, past Chairman and now President of the Isle of Man Business Network and member of the Chamber of Commerce Fuel committee.
