Reason DigitalMatt is one of the UK’s leading experts on doing good with digital. Through Reason Digital, the social enterprise, digital innovation agency he co-founded in 2007, Matt has delivered projects and training for organisations including Age UK, Christian Aid, Alzheimer’s Research UK, the BBC, Virgin and many more. In 2016 Matt wrote The Digital Fundraising Book and he regularly features at conferences and in publications by the likes of The Media Trust, The Institute of Fundraising, CharityComms, Third Sector, Directory of Social Change, The Guardian, BBC, and others. Matt’s work has won awards including The Charity Times, Big Chip and Tech for Good Awards, and in 2016 he was awarded the title of UK Digital Entrepreneur of the Year, along with his colleague Ed Cox, for his work with Reason Digital. He is also the Co-Founder of two other, post-revenue social enterprise tech companies: Impact: a social value measurement tool used by Lloyds Bank and others, and Gone for Good: a goods donation fundraising app with 60,000 users that’s raised over £1m for charity customers that include Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation and others.
Sandy Lindsay MBE
Founder and Chair
Sandy was honoured in the Queen’s birthday list of 2015 for services to business and young people. The same year also saw Sandy named North West Director of the Year (SME) and Highly Commended in the same award, nationally, by the Institute of Directors.
Sandy started her marketing career 25 years ago, moved into PR consultancy five years later and launched her own integrated communications consultancy – Tangerine – in 2002.
Sandy specialises in helping organisations prepare for, and handle crises and issues. Her crisis management experience spans the emergency services, health and other public sector organisations, as well as myriad leading brands and organisations within the private sector.
Sandy is passionate about creating quality career opportunities for young people and has launched and grown myriad job creation programmes over the years, supporting graduates and apprentices. Her latest – The Juice Academy social media apprenticeship – has created more than 200 roles in 90+ businesses across the region.
Sandy is a national Ambassador for Apprenticeships, Vice-Chair of Forever Manchester – the Community Foundation for Greater Manchester – and on the Business Leadership Council of TeachFirst in the North West. She also chairs Skills Groups for the IoD and the North West Business Leadership Team.Phil Jones MBE

Claire is Regional Director for the IoD in the North West and Isle of Man, covering Manchester City Region, Lancashire, Cumbria, Cheshire, Liverpool City Region and Isle of Man. She has a passion for bringing people together and believes that collaboration across all sectors, shapes and sizes of organisation, can drive real change.
Mike Blackburn OBE
IoD North West & IoM
Mike lives in the North West and until January 2018 was Chair of BT’s NW Regional Board, a role he held from 2007, and also Head of Digital Government in the UK until 2018.
Mike has a number of non-exec roles including Chair of the Greater Manchester Local Enterprise Partnership which sits at the heart of Greater Manchester’s governance arrangements, ensuring that business leaders are empowered to set the strategic course, determine local economic priorities and drive growth and job creation within the city region.

Sharon Amesu is an award- winning Speaker. Sharon is a Criminal Barrister turned speaker and professional coach who takes her 16 years’ experience in the Courtroom to challenge leaders to Raise the Bar in the Boardroom. Sharon specifically helps leaders to, Manage Transition, increase Executive Presence and Increase their Influence through strong Personal Branding.
Sharon speaks at leadership conferences around the country, coaches senior executives across the UK and is currently one of only 4 Leadership Facilitators for the Society of Leadership Fellows, St George’s House, Windsor Castle.
Stephen has plenty of experience working with new graduates in corporate and small businesses. For the last 7 years he has owned and run APC Cardiovascular Ltd with his wife Amanda. APC Cardiovascular is a focussed medical devices sales, marketing and distribution business. Stephen has recruited, managed and developed many graduates straight from university and firmly believes that if the people can bring their intelligence, passion, resilience and creativity, he can train the rest. Previously Stephen has worked in various blue chip corporates in various sales, marketing and general management UK and international roles. During this time Stephen developed his skills studying at the Chartered Institute of Marketing where he was a Chartered Marketer, the OU for his MBA and at the IoD. Joe Fitzsimons

Joe is responsible for the IoD’s Student Membership offering, working with universities across the nation to support over 2,000 students in pursuit of entrepreneurial activity. He works with universities to engage students in a range of events and workshops designed to develop a range of skills, while growing students’ business networks.
