Tony Connelly - Europe Editor for RTE News
Tony Connelly is Europe Editor for RTE News. He has been covering EU and European Affairs from Brussels since 2001.
Tony has reported extensively on the period before and after the Brexit referendum, and before that covered the European refugee crisis, the Greek debt situation, the Irish bail-out and the financial crisis dating back to 2008.
Tony has also reported on conflicts in Ukraine, Lebanon/Syria, Georgia, Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Angola and Rwanda.
He is the recipient of two ESB National Media awards, and a New York Festivals radio award for his documentary on the Shaktar Donetsk football club in Ukraine.
He is the author of Brexit and Ireland: the Dangers, the Opportunities and the Inside Story of the Irish Response, to be published by Penguin Books in October 2017.
His other publication is Don’t Mention the Wars: A Journey Through European Stereotypes, published 2014 by New Island.
Allie Renison - Head of Europe & Trade Policy, Institute of Directors
Allie Renison is the Institute of Directors’ Head of Europe and Trade Policy, representing the voice of members on EU policy matters to Westminster, Whitehall, and European institutions. She acts as link between business and Government on increasing international trade and provides advocacy for the IoD on a range of regulatory issues in Brussels. Previously, she was Research Director at Business for Britain, the campaign focused on renegotiating the UK’s relationship with the EU. Allie has advised parliamentarians on EU legislative issues, and holds a Masters Degree in the political economy of emerging economies in the post-Soviet space.
Maybeth Shaw - Tax Partner, BDO
Maybeth is a Tax Partner with BDO. She specialises in providing corporation tax compliance and consultancy advice, capital gains tax planning and inheritance tax planning. She works with clients across a broad spectrum of sectors including property, leisure and hospitality, manufacturing and food services.
