Rachel Clacher

Co-Founder & Director of Moneypenny

Founder & Trustee of WeMindTheGap

In 2000 Rachel Clacher co-founded Moneypenny with her brother Ed Reeves and their pooled savings of £10,000. Today Moneypenny is the world’s lead provider of telephone answering, outsourced switchboard and live chat services, with offices in both the US and UK. Here Moneypenny’s team of over 600 annually handle in excess of 13million calls on behalf of 13,000 companies from its award-winning HQ – known as ‘the happiest office in the land’ - and is one of the ‘Top 5 Best Companies to Work For in the UK’.

In 2014, Rachel brought Moneypenny’s unique approach to people development to a whole new cohort with the establishment of WeMindTheGap, a charity which gives new opportunities in life and work to unemployed under-served young women through providing totally holistic paid traineeships. The first traineeships proved so successful -  70% of all participants move into fulltime work or education - that in 2017 the charity expanded to run traineeships in Wrexham, Flintshire and Liverpool, and this year will expand further into Manchester.

Rachel believes fundamentally that business is a force for good, and is committed to developing the agenda on the subjects that she is passionate about: culture, customer service, entrepreneurship and corporate social responsibility. She is regularly invited to speak and share the Moneypenny story with both national and international business audiences, and in so doing raises valuable funds for WeMindTheGap.
