Join us at the famous Leander Club, overlooking the Thames in Henley and enjoy a lovely Christmas Lunch.  This is one of our most talked of and enjoyable events and is always overbooked - so book your place now!

The price of £40 pp (plus VAT) includes a welcome drink on arrival, a three course lunch, coffee, wine and crackers! There will also be a raffle and auction in aid of Children's Air Ambulance.

The Children’s Air Ambulance began in 2012. After a lot of hard work, dedication and passion we began to transfer specialist paediatric teams to treat seriously ill children. This national service is the first and only dedicated helicopter transfer service for critically ill children – a flying intensive care unit.

The Children’s Air Ambulance is dedicated to helping children all across the UK get to the care and support they need. Fast. In fact, we can get children to the care they need 4 times faster than if they were to go by road.

Our charity does not receive any government funding and provides all our services free of charge. We are driven by first class professionals, supported by a small army of volunteers and rely entirely on the generous donations of the public to fund our work.  As we are not supported by government funds we rely on the kindness of people like you to donate to help keep us flying.

In 1982, at the age of just 23, Elspeth Beard left London and set off on a 35,000 mile solo adventure around the world on her 1974 BMW R60/6 and became the first British woman to motorcycle around the world. She had no sponsorship or support and was in an age before email, GPS, internet, cell phones and satnavs.

During her two-and-a-half year journey she rode through deserts and mountain ranges and war-ravaged countries and along the way she had to fake documents, witness riots and civil uprisings, fend off physical threats, sexual attacks, biker gangs and corrupt police who were convinced she was trafficking drugs. She survived two crashes and life-threatening illnesses and fell in love twice.

She now runs an award-winning architectural practice, specialising in creating and remodelling interesting and unusual buildings - she lives in a converted Victorian water tower in the southeast of England.
