IoD Bermuda welcomes its first female Chartered Director

IoD Bermuda is celebrating the qualification of its first female Chartered Director, welcoming Sara Schroter Ross to its alumni community of over 50 Certificate in Company Direction holders, 20 Diploma in Company Direction graduates and now five Chartered Directors.

Sara, 37, is General Counsel for Meritus Trust Company Limited and joined the IoD in 2014, becoming the youngest – and first female – member of our Bermuda branch to achieve the Certificate in Company Direction when Professional Development exams were launched on the island the same year. Next, in 2015, she repeated the feat by passing the Diploma course – with distinction.

Rochelle Simons, chair of IoD Bermuda told local news “I extend warm congratulations to Sara on her achievement of the Chartered Director designation. I have been looking forward to this moment for Sara who has been blazing a trail in the IoD Bermuda from the time we launched professional development programme exams on-island in 2014. Sara is a wonderful woman, a leader in our community who brings insightful, strategic thinking and application to her roles. She manages a full portfolio – family, work, community service. I respect and value her insight and look forward to supporting and witnessing her further contributions to the advancement of leadership in the community.”
