IoD Social Media Contest Terms and Conditions – IoD 12 Days of Giving

The Promoter is the Institute of Directors incorporated by Royal Charter with registered number RC000252 whose office is at 116 Pall Mall, London SW1Y 5ED

The competition is free to enter and no purchase is required.

By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter are via The competition will run on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Only one entry will be accepted per person per day . Multiple entries from the same person on the same day will not be counted and will result in disqualification from the competition.  

You are free to enter and tag a different person on each day of the giveaways. Closing date to be entered into the Grand Prize draw is 11.59 am on 20/12/2017. After this date no further entries will be permitted.

No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason. 

The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:

The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom, including the Isle of Man and Channel Islands, excluding employees and their immediate families of the Institute of Directors in all regions.

Entrants must be 18 years old or over.

In order to qualify for any of the prizes and/or giveaways, the entrant must have participated in the social competition by tagging a friend or colleague in the relevant social medium where the contest is taking place.

For prizes that may include membership giveaways, the entrant must meet the joining criteria as set out by the Institute of Directors per each membership category (IoD 99, IoD Advance, IoD Full membership [may also be referred to as Standard membership], and Student membership respectively).

For prizes that may involve a full year of membership, current members can qualify for a renewal or upgrade of their current membership, given they meet the criteria if an upgrade is chosen i.e., a standard member upgrading to Advance membership or an IoD 99 member upgrading to Standard or Advance membership.

For prizes that may include membership giveaways, an individual is considered to be an entrant if they have tagged a friend or colleague or have been tagged by a friend or colleague in the competition. There is only one winner for each prize unless otherwise specified. The Promoter reserves the right to cancel or modify the competition and these terms and conditions at its sole discretion at any time.   Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the Promoter and changes to the terms and conditions shall become effective immediately upon posting to this webpage.

The Promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any

third party connected with this competition.

The prize:

The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

The CPD (continuing professional development) workshop can be up to £100 value per person in a region of their choice- UK based. The winners must attend the same workshop at the same location.

6 Tapas and 2 glasses of wine (or non-alcoholic beverage), valued at £50.00 for you and your friend or colleague offered in the Wine Bar at 116 Pall Mall.

Winners chosen for single day tickets to Open House must choose one day (12, 13 or 14 March) to attend- more details to follow. Winners must attend together on the same day. Prize only guarantees entry to the IoD Open House on the day chosen.

The Grand Prize cannot be combined with any other offer. The winner must meet specific criteria to qualify for the prize.

Winners will be chosen at random by software, from all entries received and verified via Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn by the Promoter.

The winner will be notified by DM on Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within 12 hours of notification, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize and choose a replacement winner at random.

The Promoter will provide the winner with the details of  how the prize can be claimed or collection or to arrange delivery, where appropriate.

The Promoter’s decision in respect of all matters relating to the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.

The winner agrees to the use of their name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to third parties without the entrant’s prior consent.
