Business Information Service

Important information

  • The Information Centre has moved to new premises at 123 Pall Mall, 5th floor.
International Information Industry

Information is one of the most important resources available to your business. It allows you to stay in touch with your customers, source the best suppliers and keep-up-to-date with key developments in your industry.

But meaningful information is often expensive and contrary to popular belief is not always available on the Internet. There is no need to trawl through numerous links in vain when you can take advantage of a team of qualified and experienced information professionals, who can undertake your research for you, free of charge. The information resources they have are far more comprehensive than those available on the Internet.

Typical member enquiries:

  • Do you have details of other businesses’ experience of setting up a works council?
  • What are the profit margins of leading players in the paper industry?
  • How much should we expect to pay for management consultancy?
  • What is the value of the cosmetics market in the UK?
  • How should we go about setting up a remuneration committee?
  • Where can I find information about the response rates of direct mail?
  • What items should be included in a director’s service agreement?
  • Who are directors and main shareholders of company XYZ?
  • What is the typical salary of a finance director in a £10m company?
  • What has been the inflation rate for the last 3 years?
  • What packaging exhibitions are taking place in the next few months?

The Business Information Service and Directors' Advisory Service is housed within the IoD Information Centre.
