When you join the IoD you will pay an election fee, together with the first year's membership fee (provided your membership stays current). If you join for two years the election fee will be reduced by 50%, and 100% when you join for three or more years.

If you are aged 30 or under we will reduce the election fee to £100, saving you £115.

The annual membership fee is normally tax deductible. If you are entitled to the tax deduction, you will be able to find a section in your self-assessment form to claim it as a tax deductible expense.

When joining the IoD a new applicant will pay the first year's subscription, together with a one off election fee, which is usually £215.

Savings can be made on the election fee in the case of multiple applications or longer term memberships.

The cost of joining multiple applications

When 2 or more applications are made from the same organisation at the same time, the election fee will be reduced on a sliding scale according to the number of applications made.

When an individual joins for three years or more the election fee will be waived.

Only one discount to the election fee may be claimed in respect of each application. The largest reduction will apply where an applicant qualifies under more than one category.

Reduced election fees are exclusive and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer.

The full annual membership fee for the first year must accompany the relevant election fee.
