Institute of Directors launches first North Wales business hub

SENIOR business leaders from across North Wales gathered at the prestigious Bangor Management Centre for the official launch of the Institute of Directors’ (IoD) first hub in the region.

North Wales AM Antoinette Sandbach cut the ribbon and unveiled a plaque during a ceremony at the centre, based within Bangor University.
The hub will enable IoD members in North Wales to benefit from a range of new facilities to help them run their businesses efficiently, including access to a business lounge for meetings with clients or colleagues, free wi-fi, refreshments and free membership of the Bangor University Business Club.
More than 60 key North Wales business leaders attended the event.
Antoinette said: “It was a pleasure to open the IoD’s first business hub in North Wales.
“The facility will provide a vital contact point and opportunity for partnership working. The research facilities at the university will provide an opportunity to enhance the North Wales business scene.”

The new hub means IoD members will also have the benefit of discounted rates at the centre’s four-star accommodation, conference and venue hire, flexible office space and catering at the on-site café and restaurant.
Helen Watson, chairman of the IoD North Wales branch, said: “We were delighted with the success of the launch event.
“The creation of a regional business hub for North Wales signals a positive change in the way the IoD supports and does business in the region.
“Bangor Management Centre is a building of the highest quality and this new business hub is a facility we can be really proud of.”
