What is probably one of the most challenging but nevertheless rewarding roles in the IoD will soon become vacant when our current Chairman, Chris Dodson, completes his full and very successful three year term as our Chairman.
Overseeing the largest Region in the UK with by far the largest number of members and a wealth of activity, Chris has led us through the past three years with clear focus and a great deal of dedication, and has helped shape the direction of the IoD and its Branches in what we now know as IoD South.
Although the title is Regional Chairman, a great part of the role is ambassadorial – representing the IoD and business issues in meetings with local business leaders and organisations, through to meetings with Ministers of the Crown.
The ideal candidate should have experience of working in a senior role in a major wealth creating company, will live in the Region and be able to commit a fair but reasonable amount of time to the role.
We are asking anyone who might be interested to get in touch with us by the end of April and will be seeking to meet them during May/June. The appointment will eventually be made by the Board of the IoD.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY SEMINAR DEEMED A GREAT SUCCESS!!
Over 60 members attended the first of our Intellectual Property Seminars to hear speakers introduce this quite complex but, crucially important area for business.
Held in the excellent surroundings of the Sofitel Hotel, Gatwick and under the banner of Create, Innovate and Protect it provided a fully interactive opportunity to respond to the presentations and delve more deeply into the subject – with some surprising results!
