Welcome to the IoD City of London Branch website    

The Branch was founded in 1981 by the late Sir Kenneth Cork who was Lord Mayor of the City in 1978/79. It is one of the larger branches of the IOD with over 1,200 members. The membership ranges from directors of small family businesses to the largest City institutions and includes a proportion of members representing almost all the professions in the City. Three quarters of the members are in the Banking, Finance, Insurance, Business Services and Leasing Sectors. More than half are under 49 years of age with most of this group being in the 40-49 age bracket. Chairmen, Presidents, Deputy Chairmen and Chief Executives of companies make up 13% of our membership whilst 9% are partners in firms and 2% are sole traders. We have a lively programme of events throughout the year and look forward to seeing you at these.

IoD City Forthcoming Events & Dates for your Diary

When a non-member seeks to book an event online, they must first register their details with the site. Once their details have been accepted they can book an event. Please note that there may be a delay of up to 48 hours between supplying their information to the site and being able to return to book, and pay for an event. For a first time visitor to the site two separate visits will be required.

For IoD members there is no delay between registering their details with the site for the first time and be able to book, and pay for an event. Only one visit is necessary.

City Business Library

A useful and potentially overlooked resource, the library provides a programme of courses that are aimed at SME business and are FREE! The library also holds a large range of subscription based databases - useful for creating B2B mailing lists - again all free to download.
