How do I join the IoD?

You can join the IoD online (an instant application process). Simply complete the online application form and submit. Full details of membership criteria can also be viewed online. any questions can be submitted to the Membership Development Department or you can call 020 7766 8888.

How do I log in?

IoD members are given a username and password (that can be changed) which they need for logging-on to the site. Non-members can register by entering basic details.

Can I apply for membership online?

Yes - simply complete our online application form.

Can I renew my membership online?

Yes - renewing online is simple.

How safe is shopping on iod.com?

Buying products on iod.com is a secure process. When you enter your credit card details on the site, they are transmitted to the IoD via a secure link (SSL: secure sockets layer). To assure customers that the link is secure, we have a certificate from Verisign who are one of the leading providers of website infrastructure services to enterprises. Part of their issuing procedure is to validate the authenticity of the company requesting the certificate. all credit card transactions are authorised before processing and all data sent is encrypted. In all areas of the site where purchases/bookings are made the key information is encoded as it is entered. You can see the closed padlock on the bottom right-hand side of the screen. In addition, the web server is protected by security devices and only authorised users at the IoD are able to access order information.

How can I search the whole site?

The site map lists all areas of the site, and the navigation buttons on the left-hand side of each page lets users work through the site.

Can I get company accounts on your site?

You can access credit reports on UK companies from iod.com.

       

Policy, Information & advice

       

How can I contribute to IoD policy matters?

IoD members can contribute to IoD Policy issues by completing questionnaires available on iod.com and also in IoD News, our monthly member newsletter. Comments and views can also be submitted directly to The Policy Unit.

Can I get free legal advice?

Yes, from Directors Law Express as a member of the IoD. IoD members can also get free advice from the Directors' advisory Service.

Is 116 Pall Mall the IoD's only premises?

No, we have branches throughout the world, with 33 in the UK alone. In addition to two premises in Pall Mall, London, we have member premises in Edinburgh, Belfast, Birmingham and Manchester.

How do I find out about my local branch/region?

Privacy

       

Does the IoD publish its membership list?

The IoD seeks to protect the privacy of its members by not publishing details of members. However, members can promote their services to other members via the Directory of Members Products and Services.

       

Non-members

       

Can I use the services if I am not a member?

Some IoD and iod.com services are available to non-members. IoD members also receive significant discounts on IoD products and services as well as preferential rates and exclusive offers through our partnership deals. See our "at-a-glance guide" for non-members.
