The fourth paper in the IoD’s Infrastructure for Business series examines the case for more airport capacity in the UK and makes a set of 25 recommendations in six broad areas: making the best use of existing capacity, deciding where new capacity should go, integrating rail and air services, dealing with noise and other environmental issues, limiting tax, and improving the UK’s visa and border regime. With two thirds of IoD members saying that direct flights to the high growth markets will be important to their businesses over the next decade, it is vital that the UK remains well connected.
