IoD condemns Network Rail report on train punctuality

Commenting on new Network Rail figures, which reveal that ‘right-time performance’ – the proportion of trains arriving within 59 seconds of the scheduled arrival time – was only 57.1% between 11 November and 8 December 2012, and 69.2% in the year to 8 December 2012, Corin Taylor, Senior Economic Adviser at the Institute of Directors said:

"Yet again Network Rail have failed to deliver a good service for passengers who pay large amounts for their service. Business relies on prompt trains to get staff to work and to meetings on time. It is frustrating for those working hard to get the economy growing to be let down by a key connecting service."
