Yorkshire IoD is committed to supporting our members through director development and the lobbying of key decisions makers in the region and nationally.
Through our four active branches in North, South, East and West Yorkshire we represent members interests at the highest level and have been responsible for attracting some of the most influential and aspirational speakers in the UK to the region. Additionally our Young Directors are working across the region to represent the leaders of the future entrepreneurship. We encourage healthy debate, ask our members what their key issues are and seek to feed those back to make a real improvement to the business environment.
We are working with the region's universities to promote our IoD student membership. Yorkshire has secured earlier this year a pilot for apprentices to have access to the IoD's student membership programme to be launched in the Autumn.
Our Regional Director, supported by the administrative team from the hub in Leeds, works for our four branches to deliver a series of high profile events that have attracted national media attention, yet offering valuable networking opportunities for our members.

Could you be our next East Yorkshire Chairman?
After an exceptional number of successful years, the IoD's East Yorkshire Chairman, Richard Tuplin, is approaching the end of his term of office. This means that an opportunity has arisen to take on a challenging and rewarding role within the IoD.
We are looking for someone to chair and lead the volunteer East Yorkshire (Humber) Committee with a focus on develop the membership and supporting and engaging with IoD members in East Yorkshire and across our Region, including implementing and supporting IoD policies, standards and initiatives.
Acting as the voice of the IoD in the region is also part of the role and as such you will be expected to promote the profile of the IoD in East Yorkshire (Humber) by engaging with local businesses and other stakeholders, such as the LEPs, public sector bodies, Universities and educational bodies.
The ideal candidate should have experience of working in a senior role in an established wealth creating company, will live in and be knowledgeable about East Yorkshire and the Humber and be able to commit a fair but, reasonable amount of time to the role.
There will be a formal interview panel process following which the formal appointment will be made by the Board of the IoD. If you wish to know more about this important and high profile role, please contact the incumbent Chairman, Richard Tuplin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that in accordance with the highest standards of corporate governance, an agenda the IoD has led on for many years, Richard, as outgoing Chair, will not play a part in the formal appointment process of his successor, so is happy to speak informally to potential applicants about the role prior to them putting in their application as this will not influence any final appointment decision.
If you are interested in being the next IoD East Yorkshire Chairman, please send a 2 page CV together with a covering letter explaining the attributes you think you could bring to the role to IoD Yorkshire & the Humber, Old Broadcasting House, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds, LS2 9EN or email email@example.com by October 10th 2014. We expect to run the appointment panel week commencing October 13th 2014, to provide some handover time with the outgoing chairman, with a final handover at the end of November 2014.
