IoD South West - About Us
The IoD South West region is one of the most active and vibrant in the UK, representing almost 3000 members spread across 6 local branches - in Bath & Wiltshire, Bristol, Devon & Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Somerset.
The South West Region is renowned for its programme of informative, inspirational and valuable business events. These include exclusive company visits and presentations, breakfasts with successful business speakers and dinners with entrepreneurs - all opportunities for you to learn, connect and build your business network.
The South West regional office is located within the stunning Bristol and Bath Science Park and is headed up by Regional Director Simon Face. The regional team aims to provide information, support and guidance for directors, entrepreneurs and other business leaders, helping their businesses to thrive and grow.
We are also extremely grateful to our many South West Committee Members whose ideas, experience and contacts within the South West business community ensures the success of these events.
South West Director of the Year Awards 2014
This year’s IoD South West Awards Dinner will be held in Bristol in the Summer.
We are now inviting entries for the Awards so if you or any leading Director you know (whether IoD member or not) would like the chance to benefit from all the publicity which surrounds these awards please find further details below.
At the 2013 event we were joined once again by a number of successful Directors and entrepreneurs from around the region. In particular we offered congratulations to the 2013 winners of the IoD South West Director of the Year Awards:
• Director Development Award - Andrew Millard - UK Hydrographic Office, Somerset
• Corporate Responsibility Award - Paul Fox - Merryhill Envirotec, Dorset
• Young Director Award - Ellen Rodger - Sungift Solar, Exeter
• Director of the Year Award - Sarah Trethowan - TRAC Services, Cornwall
The awards generated a lot of interest from members around the region and the judges were impressed by the strength and quality of all the entries.
The Bristol Distinguished Executive Address Series is delivered by the Bristol Business School in partnership with Bristol City Council, Bristol Post, Business West, CBI,CMI, IoD and West of England LEP. It provides a unique opportunity to hear about the challenges, issues and decisions being made at the highest level of strategic leadership.
