IoD East Midlands starts search for new regional chairman
IoD East Midlands is the premier business lobbying and director support group in the region.
At the heart and head of every issue that affects business leaders the IoD supports our members and brings added value to their working lives. In challenging times we are looking for innovative ways that will enhance their careers and organisations.
Our current Regional Chairman, Peter Fothergill, is due to complete his term of office soon. We need someone who can step up to the mark and continue his excellent work, helping to build a better business environment throughout the region. It won’t be an easy task. We’re looking for a senior business figure who can pull together the IoD’s diverse membership and create a coherent voice that Government listens to.
From rural and agri-food businesses, to the growing hi-tech design and creative sectors, traditional manufacturing , the East Midlands covers all types of businesses – and our chairman has to represent the interests of them all. You’ll need to be an eloquent spokesperson, well-briefed on every sector of business and the diverse factors that affect them. In the role you will present the region’s business interests to government ministers, local administrators and politicians, and their international contemporaries. You’ll also be required for interviews with journalists looking for incisive commentary and understanding of the key issues affecting industry in the region and the UK.
