Economic Analyst

Salary: competitive – dependent on experience

The IoD is looking to recruit an Economic Analyst who will report to our Chief Economist and Director of Policy. This is a new role, and its primary objective is to undertake research on a wide range of macro-economic subjects. The economic analyst will keep existing economic presentations up to date, assist with the development of new thought leadership, as well as participate in policy development and wider lobbying activities.

We are looking for a Graduate or equivalent ideally in a maths related subject who has an advanced understanding of statistics. Candidates will be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint packages and will be familiar with producing reports and interpreting data. Previous project and or event management experience would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will also possess strong communication skills both verbal and written, analytical and research abilities; as well as first class organisational experience to support the IoD’s engagement with key external stakeholders.

Applicants should have a strong understanding of the UK legislative process and broad familiarity with the workings of Westminster and Whitehall. The ideal candidate will be able to work on detailed tasks, have the ability to quickly grasp a range of complex issues and meet strict deadlines.
