IoD Governance Positions - Assessment Committee members

At a time of dynamic change within to the IoD’s examination and assessments structure, the IoD is seeking new members to join its newly formed Assessment Committee (Committee). The Committee is a sub-committee of the Accreditation and Standards Committee and the role of the Committee is the responsibility for the overall quality assurance of the Chartered Director examination and assessment processes. The Committee will also be responsible for ensuring standards are maintained and candidates receive reliable and consistent results throughout their journey towards becoming a Chartered Director.

We are seeking individuals with experience of assessment methodology and quality assurance of assessment processes, who can bring innovation, sound judgement and passion to the team. This role will be both challenging and rewarding as you will be contributing towards improving the professional development of directors and business leaders across the country. The Committee meets 4 times a year in London.

Finance Director

We are seeking a new Finance Director to lead the finance and premises teams, oversee all financial aspects of IoD strategy, act as custodian of the financial health of the IoD and deliver the flow of key financial information needed by senior management and the Board. A key member of the Executive Management team the position reports to the Director General and has Board potential for the right candidate.

The role contributes proactively to the continuing growth and development activities of the IoD, exerting strong influence over the shape and content of the budget and over the commercial viability of business projects. Other key areas include strong financial reporting and performance monitoring, coordination of corporate risk assessment, effective resource allocation and managing outsourced contracts.
The IoD’s current business projects include a new membership proposition, expansion of its professional development activities, a new IT platform supporting a new CRM system and website, an operational review and a high performance culture programme.

The successful applicant must be suitably qualified with a proven track record in a senior financial post and significant experience of leading a finance team. You will understand where the value creation is in a business and identify opportunities for growth, increasing efficiency and profitability. You must have a commercial focus, excellent communication skills to lead and motivate staff and have the personal stature to influence at board level.
